Qualified and Experienced Gardener Required for a position within a Dynamic Team on a Large Private Estate in Co. Wicklow.
Essential:
- Applicants must have a BSc in Horticulture
- Must have at least two years relevant experience working in a walled garden or similar environment.
- Applicants must have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of gardening
- Must have a good familiarity with herbaceous plants and shrubs and how to care for them
Key duties include:
- General maintenance of herbaceous and mixed borders within a 19th century walled garden and borders; including weeding, mulching, edging and staking of plants
- Seed sowing and propagation by cuttings of tender perennials and seasonal annuals
- Keeping high standards throughout the landscaped grounds
- Winter orchard fruit tree pruning
- Nursery stock management
The candidate must be passionate and enthusiastic about plants and gardening in general and have the ability to work well as part of a team or as an individual.
