Updated 24th of May 2018 to reflect and incorporate EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will continually be proactive to any concerns users may have about any type of date we collect and therefore will continue to add updates here as we improve our data and GDPR compliance.

You may have reached this privacy policy via any of our websites or via QR codes for our print publications as Horticulture Connected Ltd is the legal entity responsible for the collection and safekeeping of any data supplied by you and stored by us.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

Who we share your data with?

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Any registered user can also at anytime ask us to delete any backend data. An example of practical sharing of information would be if you receive a copy of our print publications then we also share our postal list with Azure Communications and An Post only. We are not a data-centric business. Also for example in our weekly e-newsletter, we do not generally have first or surnames linked to emails and only gather essential data such as email addresses to send you out relevant information for your business and professional career. We have never shared or sold any of YOUR information to any other 3rd party.

What rights you have over your data?

It’s your data from the start and it is your right to ask us to remove any or all that we may have. If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. More importantly, you can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you within a 30-day deadline. What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, or website?

When ordering, registering on our site, entering a competition or registering for an event etc, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help us with your to interact and deliver the requested service.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, enter a competition, fill out a form, apply for a job, sign up for future job alerts or use our live chat service to enter information that will help us to serve you best.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Images used by Horticulture Connected are either obtained directly from the owner or taken by our own photographers at events we exhibit or visit.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How do we protect your information?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. We use regular Malware Scanning. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All transactions are processed through a gateway provider Stripe and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Do we use ‘cookies’?
We do not use cookies for tracking purposes.

You can have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browsers are a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies in order to best protect yourself.
