There was a great attendance at the workshop on 29th of June. There was plenty of discussion on the evening with a good friendly atmosphere. It was a good chance to catch up with friends after a busy season.
Plant pathologist Brian McGuiness covered the fundamentals of identifying disease – judging by the attention of the crowd it was good to get a reminder on some of the topics. He was kept busy during the evening with samples brought in for identification. Yvonne Grace spoke about her research into labour in the sector and I introduced a few approaches to vine weevil control and assessing irrigation uniformity. We finished off with a tour from Mat Lohan.
The team at Woodstock Nurseries had the place looking great -a big thank you to Mat, Mathew and Fintan for hosting the event.
