Get Involved with 'One Million Trees in One Day'

One Million Trees in One Day is a charity, not-for-profit, cross-border, community and environmental initiative which will plant a million young native trees at many different sites across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in 24 hours. Its true aim however is to establish individual trees and woodlands in both rural and urban areas that will grow for many many years and which will provide valuable resources, beneficial ecosystem services and a lasting legacy for future generations.

Our target date for planting is November 2012. We will decide on a date very soon.

Planting a million trees in one day with only about eight and a half hours of daylight will be a great challenge. We believe that many hands make light work; the more people joining the huge team that will bring this project to fruition, the easier the job will be. It might rain, it might snow, it could be the hottest day of the year… but we’re going to give it our very best shot.
