National Organic Training Skillnet (NOTS) has announced aid for businesses in agriculture and horticulture with training needs. If the business has training requirements of any type, whether directly related to production or retail operations or to the overall business needs, 30% funding is available through the network towards training costs.
Most types of training can be supported from general production training to business support training such as IT, Food safety, HACCP Environmental Management, Quality systems, etc, or in areas of employee induction, chainsaw training or new product development. Training can be delivered in-house or by bringing trainees together from different businesses.
Some of the forthcoming training courses planned by NOTS include orchard establishment and management, setting up a box system, soil biology, homeopathy for animals, DIY AI training, organic egg production, organic pig production, organic cereal production and an introduction to organic broiler production. Training in dairy and pig processing is also planned.
