In business 20 years in Co Carlow, The Honest Farmer is launching the campaign at this year’s Bloom in the Park festival, which will take place from 2 June in the Phoenix Park.

It aims to reach a €10,000 target for the charity by donating 2 cent for every punnet sold in Dunnes Stores or on The Honest Farmer’s Facebook page.

Director of The Honest Farmer, Leslie Codd said the business has been growing year on year and it wanted to “give something back”.

“Action Breast Cancer is a well recognised and supported brand in Ireland but we want to make sure that the charity gets as much exposure as possible so with the rise of online marketing, Facebook seemed like the obvious way to promote our campaign. We have already had a huge amount of support on our Facebook page.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Ireland, with 2,500 women throughout the country being diagnosed every year.
