Food industry representatives will have an opportunity to see the latest developments in food research, at the Teagasc Food Innovation Gateways event, which will take place on Wednesday, 12 December. The Food Gateways event is being hosted at the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark, Fermoy and will showcase the technology offers, emerging technology opportunities, technical services, pilot plant facilities and will provide a unique opportunity to meet and interact with the key researchers.
Food industry representatives will have an opportunity to see the latest developments in food research, at the Teagasc Food Innovation Gateways event, which will take place on Wednesday, 12 December. The Food Gateways event is being hosted at the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark, Fermoy and will showcase the technology offers, emerging technology opportunities, technical services, pilot plant facilities and will provide a unique opportunity to meet and interact with the key researchers.
This is the second Teagasc Food Innovation Gateways event this year and will outline Research and Development supports for the expanding food industry. The event will provide an opportunity for Food companies to inform themselves of the tax incentives and supports available for R&D, in addition to getting an opportunity to view a range of ongoing R&D, commercial opportunities and services from both Teagasc Food Research Centres at Ashtown and Moorepark.
The pilot plant facility, Moorepark Technology Limited, will be open to all registered visitors on the day. Teagasc are committed to providing the support required by the Irish food sector to develop innovative value-added products and new processing technologies, improve competitiveness and assure food safety and quality.
Speaking in advance of the Teagasc Food Gateways event, Professor Paul Ross, Head of the Teagasc Food Research programme said: “The Irish Agri-Food sector needs to aggressively pursue all opportunities presented, through the exploitation of technologies and biosciences available within Teagasc, and its partner research organisations. The Irish Agri-Food sector can increase its international competitiveness through knowledge based, and market led innovation.”
