Slugs and Snails

Killing them seems only to encourage them
And if reincarnation is the cause of their return
Maybe they are embittered with their lot

Slugs and Snails

Killing them seems only to encourage them
And if reincarnation is the cause of their return
Maybe they are embittered with their lot

And spend their slimy laden lives destroying
Every petal in their path
Just to get back at God’s judicial system
Which decreed that they spend this short life term
Without arms, legs, hooves, fur, feather or fins for their sins.

And it’s their consistently destructive response
That keeps them on a downward spiral
On this karmic cycle
Of revenge, retribution and relegated rebirthing

How could any respectable judicial system
Reward such wanton widespread and deliberate destruction
With a promotion?

It seems the only way to keep these criminals at bay
Is to feed them with drink
Alcohol appears to sooth that malicious urge
That drives them
To scale any and all vertical obstacles
Wall, window or tree trunk
To commit a kill

Somehow when they are drunk
Enough
They don’t feel the need to destroy
All of my buds , seedling and flowers
Every night
For entertainment

You see
Encouraging them can only kill them
