The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine will pay a grant, as an interim measure, if a report from an ecologist or archaeologist is submitted as part of an application. This grant will be paid at Form 2 stage, which is when payment is made for trees planted.
No additional application is required as the process is automated in the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Grant levels
An additional €450 will be paid for the first hectare, €400 for the second hectare, €350 for the third hectare and €50/ha thereafter to a maximum of 20 hectares (i.e. maximum grant payable: €2,050).
A supplementary payment will be made for files already paid in 2022 where an environmental report was submitted.
