The new school year has just started and with it comes an important year of decision making for Year 12, 13 and 14 students. Cafre’s Loughry Campus in Cookstown will try and help you make the right choices by hosting an open evening, on Wednesday 2 October from 3.00pm – 8.00pm for anyone thinking of a career in food. Whether you are finishing your GCSE’s or ‘A’ levels in 2014 or simply planning ahead for the next year, this is an excellent opportunity to see what the food industry and Loughry have on offer.
Food is constantly in the news – it is our largest manufacturing industry. The Northern Ireland food and drink industry is a vibrant, progressive sector that has been ‘recession resistant’ when many other sectors have been in decline. For the food sector to continue its growth it needs creative, motivated and talented graduates who can deliver success. Loughry students are in demand, largely due to the practical nature of our courses and the fact they are taught in world class facilities – right on your doorstep.
The Open Evening provides the perfect opportunity for students to find out about entry requirements, career opportunities, accommodation and funding for your studies, which includes low course fees for degree students. As well as checking out the excellent career prospects with a wide range of opportunities right across the supply chain in food retailing, new product development, technical management and food nutrition, which have certainly made Loughry Campus the first choice for many new entrants.
We offer a range of courses in Food Technology, Food Design and Nutrition, Food, Nutrition & Health and Food Management and Marketing. Courses are available at all levels from National Diploma, suitable for students with GCSE’s to Foundation and Honours Degree, on both a full and part-time basis.
If you want to find out why our graduates have high employment success, securing great jobs in the food industry then come along to our Open Day on 2 October and you too could be on the road to making the right choice for a successful career in the food and drink industry. For more information on any of our courses call freephone on 0800 0284291.
