Merrick Denton-Thomson OBE FLIThe Landscape Profession is uniquely positioned between society and natural systems to transform both town and country to meet many of the key challenges we are all facing. Populations are expanding but the earth and its resources are finite, here in the UK and Ireland we are experiencing the resulting tensions sooner than many parts of the world. The densification of our towns and cities, the state of our water, our air and our soils, the reliance we have on unsustainable food production systems and the deterioration of our health and wellbeing – all combine to set the new agenda for the Landscape Profession. Sustainable solutions and building resilience are the new imperatives. The lecture is free and all are welcome. Places are limited, please email   ili@irishlandscapeinstitute.com to reserve your seat.
