The ALCI in conjunction with and sponsored by new trade member Unichem has organised a seminar on Tuesday, 5th December at the new Teagasc Ashtown Education, Research and Conference Centre, Scribbletown, Dublin 15.
The theme of the seminar is to hear and discuss presentations on innovation and change within the landscaping sector in relation to IVM, biological control of pests and organic plant nutrition, plus an update on relevant legislation.
The speakers are:
- Greg Collins, Bayer Environmental Science – “Bayer’s approach to Industrial Vegetation Management (IVM)”
- Jos Theunissen, Melspring International – “Sustainable Turf Management using organic fertilisers”
- Gordon Rennick, Dept of Agriculture – “Update on pesticide legislation”
- David Davidson, Koppert Biological Systems – “The use of nematodes for the biological control of wine weevil and leatherjackets”
Timing:
Lunch will be provided (free of charge) at 12.30. The meeting will commence at 1.30 and conclude at 4.00. There will be an opportunity to raise any other issues relevant to the ALCI after the meeting.
