Apologies to those of you who clicked directly through to your specific news sector only to find it was not updated. Sorted for this week and updated with every thing except ‘Todays News’.

In last weeks newsletter we carried the article Bloom Phoenix Questions Raised Over Awarding of Tender for ‘Bloom in the Park’ 2012 Event Management. We had a response from a Bord Bia spokesperson that we have now included in the article. It basically say’s ‘All is Well’ and that it is all systems go for Bloom 2012. In the article Tourism Ireland Pitch up at Philadelphia International Flower Show you will see that they targeted 265,000 potential visitors while vitually next door, with 10 times that number expected to visit is Floriade 2012.

There is to our shame no Irish representation. Do ‘Tourism Ireland ask for advice on where to target potential visitors interested in garden related tourism? Obvisouly not! To finish on a Bord Bia positive there is a mine of useful information to be gleaned in Garden Market – Recent Consumer Research Findings. Sign up for these and related alerts at www.BordBia.ie

John Lord Says ‘Beware of Pyracantha Leaf Miner‘ in what will be an ongoing series of articles on uncontroversial subjects. He is afterall first and foremost a ‘Plantsman’. Let that not put him off or any of our other readers from speaking their minds. You will see from next week a new button on the top menu that will allow you to submit news as a one-liner for the ‘Latest News’ or a ‘Full Article/Press Release’ It will also allow you to attach photos and documents for our consideration to publish if we feel it is newsworthy and useful for the rest of the trade.
