Students on the Horticulture Foundation Degree course at CAFRE had the opportunity to turn the apples they harvested from the wide variety of trees in the Walled Garden at Greenmount into delicious apple juice. As part of their horticultural studies, students have been learning how to prune and maintain trees to promote more fruit, and during a visit to Loughry Campus they were able to see firsthand the differences in the taste and sugar levels of the juice produced from different varieties.
