Airfield is a 38-acre urban farm and gardens located in Dundrum, Dublin, Ireland. As one of Dublin’s leading visitor attractions, we welcome local, national and international visitors throughout the year. We provide a wide range of programmes and activities that aim to promote an understanding of agriculture, horticulture and the link between farming and food production. Over the next five years, Airfield’s goal is to become a leading voice in food sustainability beyond the walls of Dundrum.
The Head of Sustainable Food Production will be required to engage with key stakeholders, act as a spokesperson and bring to life Airfield’s mission ‘to inspire and enable informed food choices. The role will be involved in delivering Airfield’s vision to be a leading voice in food sustainability which includes
- Providing and promoting education and research to all internal and external stakeholders
- Designing a complete circular sustainable food production to consumer model
- Engaging in public profile and communications
- Developing team, talent and partnerships
The position manages and ensures the effectiveness of all day-to-day operations of food production in the organic garden and regenerative farm at Airfield and provides support for our education and research activities. The Head of Sustainable Food Production will ensure there is a cohesive synergy between the food production garden, farm, culinary team, education and events team in the delivery of a 100% authentic ‘soil to fork’ programme for visitors, partners and influencers.
