Food waste is an issue that affects all aspects of society in Ireland – producers, growers, retail, hospitality, consumers and those who experience food poverty. Through preventing food waste, and becoming more efficient in using what we have, Ireland can reduce the environmental impacts associated with food waste, improve the financial performance of businesses and householders alike, and help those who struggle on a daily basis to put food on the table.
The Forum on Food Waste 2014 aims to discuss and explore ideas for collective solutions to how Ireland can make a realistic effort to achieve the EU target to reduce food waste by 30% by 2025. In an event moderated by Phillip Boucher-Hayes and prompted by case studies and interactive discussion panels, this event will bring together key actors across the food chain to discuss the issues and challenges in relation to food loss and waste in Ireland.
On the 11th and 12th of December join organisations including the EPA, Bord Bia Origin Green, Tesco Ireland, BIM, Unilever Food Solutions, HSE, Foodcloud, Bia Food Initiative, local authorities and others involved in the gathering momentum to tackle food waste in Ireland
