IFA President John Bryan has called on the Taoiseach Enda Kenny to announce the appointment of a Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine without delay.
John Bryan said, “The Minister of State has responsibility for horticulture, forestry and food safety. There are a number of issues in these areas that urgently need to be addressed, and the ongoing vacancy is delaying decisions and actions that should have been implemented by now”.
He said, “The Department has a heavy workload with CAP Reform and the Irish Presidency of the EU. It is imperative that the Minister of State job is filled immediately”.
