The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed the winner of the prestigious RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year at the opening of the world-famous show, sponsored by The Newt in Somerset, which runs until Saturday 28 May.
Competing against 19 other shortlisted plants, × Semponium ‘Destiny’ from Surreal Succulents was selected as the winner, with second place going to Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Dreamland’ (Dreameria Series) from Stonebarn Landscapes and third place to Salvia Pink Amistad (‘Arggr17-011’) from Middleton Nurseries Ltd.
The winning entry was selected by a panel of over 100 plant experts with the annual competition celebrating the work of breeders and nurseries in developing and growing new plant varieties.
The winning plants and the finalists are on display in the Great Pavilion (stand GP224) at RHS Chelsea from 24 to 28 May. Limited tickets are available from www.rhs.org.uk/chelsea
