GLDA Seminar 22nd Feb 2025. Speaker Charlotte Hitchmough
GLDA Community are pleased to welcome Charlotte Hitchmough, Director of Action for the River Kennet Trust, as a speaker at our upcoming GLDA Seminar. Charlotte has dedicated her career to water-related issues, beginning in the water industry, progressing through research councils, and culminating in a leadership role within the Rivers Trust movement. She has led numerous award-winning initiatives aimed at protecting and enhancing river catchments and is a staunch advocate for nature-based solutions and community involvement in water conservation.
The title of Charlotte’s talk will be: “Rethinking Rain.”
In her presentation, Charlotte will address the effects of changing rainfall patterns and showcase nature-based solutions that can help us adapt our landscapes to emerging climate realities. Drawing on her extensive experience with the Rivers Trust, she will discuss the crucial role that landscape architecture plays in river health and how garden designers can contribute to creating resilient environments within river catchments.

Who are the GLDA?
The Garden and Landscape Designers Association is an organisation for garden designers, horticulturists and landscape designers. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in gardens or garden design. There is a variety of membership plans available including student, friend, professional and corporate rates.
