National Fertiliser Register Registration Deadline 1st September
The National Fertiliser Register is being rolled out by DAFM. It will provide DAFM with detailed data on national fertiliser use. Fertiliser merchants will be monitoring what they are selling to industry as a statutory requirement for DAFM. All professional fertiliser end users have to register with DAFM, this includes nurseries, landscapers and sports clubs. Registered users will be given a number which they will provide to their supplier merchant on purchasing fertiliser.
What you need to do:
Growers /Farmers/Landscapers (or their agents) can register for the database through the department’s online Agfood portal.
Your professional plant operator number should suffice instead of a herd number.
- Register as a professional fertiliser end-user to purchase fertiliser from September 1, 2023; application form
- Once registered, declare closing fertiliser stock on their farm as of 11:59p.m on the 14th of September (the end of the fertiliser spreading period). Farmers will have until the 15th of October, to make this declaration;
NOTE: A number of new rules will come into effect from the 1st of September. From this date, it will be an offence to sell or purchase fertiliser without being registered. Under the new rules, any of the following will be an offence:
- Failing to comply with the requirements to register as a fertiliser economic operator or as a professional fertiliser end user;
