Talk Synopsis
This presentation will give a brief introduction to the common law system and then concentrate on more recent changes in the statute law, covering the Forestry Act, (Planting and Felling), Roads Act, Wildlife Act, Occupiers Liability Act, Conveyancing and Reform Act and Planning Act (Tree Preservation Orders).
Biography
Joseph is the principal and senior consultant with JM McConville & Associates, Arboricultural Consultants. The practice deals with arboriculture and historic landscape management. Having qualified from The National University of Ireland (NUI) with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree in horticulture, he qualified as a tree surgeon to the level of Craftsman, examined and certified with distinctions, by the City and Guilds of London Institute. He is Fellow of the Arboricultural Association, and an Associate Member of the Landscape Institute (management) and a Chartered Environmentalist. He has considerable experience in litigation as an expert witness over his 40 years in practice.
