7 February 2022 saw the birth of the new Green Retail Events fair organisation.
The signing of the shareholders’ agreement between the Stichting Vakbeurs voor de Boomkwekerij (SVB; Nursery Trade Fair Foundation) and GROEN-Direkt Boskoop B.V. marked the official start of the cooperation. The agreement was signed by Jan de Vries and Michiel Gerritsen on behalf of SVB, and Taaf Rosbergen and Hans Cok on behalf of GROEN-Direkt. These four men also constitute the board of directors of the new private company.
Speaking of the agreement, secretary and treasurer of the Trade Fair for Tree Nursery Foundation, Michiel Gerritsen said:
“Our board, together with the management of GROEN-Direkt, has achieved a wonderful outcome for both fairs, but also for the sector: we are joinging forces and moving forward together!”
The first event to be organised by Green Retail Events will be the new Plantarium|GROEN-Direkt fair, the number-one fair for European garden plant buyers, which will take place on 24 and 25 August 2022. Right now the organisation is being further consolidated. The board is for example busy creating a team that will be responsible for the fair’s actual organisation. The aim is for this team to be operational by March and then start registering exhibitors for participation in the fair.
