Welcome to National Biodiversity Week 2022!
Explore the rich variety of life in Ireland this May with a host of wonderful events and activities for the whole family.
This year join in with our 10th annual Biodiversity Photographer of the Year competition, a weekend Biolitz and Scavenger Hunt, and events every day on all things wildlife in Ireland! Events will be both in person and virtual, so everyone can take part.
National Biodiversity Week is all about connecting people with nature. It’s about communicating the importance of biodiversity and motivating people to play their part in protecting it.
It’s also about entertaining them, showing the fun and wonder that can be found in nature, and inspiring people to learn more, see more, do more.
We are delighted that this year we can return to hosting in person activities as well as continuing online events. We will publish details of all events on our calendar and social media. There are events covering all interests, from the ocean to the mountain tops. Join in to celebrate our Nature and Biodiversity with a range of family-friendly activities. Our 10th annual Biodiversity Photographer of the Year runs throughout May and the centrepiece of Biodiversity week will be our Backyard Bioblitz.
