SpeakEATsy is an experience – a happening – the core components are food; art; spoken word poetry; live musicians; a facilitated conversation with notable thinkers, writers or activists; and leading edge DJs to finish. But it is so much more than the sum of its parts. Food, conversation, and music are great ways to bring people together – SpeakEATsy emerged from a novel take on these simple ingredients and the desire to cultivate community.
Featuring guest speaker Pavlos Georgiadis: Community Manager with GROW Observatory, a citizen science initiative to improve soil using regenerative practices, while helping with climate change adaptation. In his native Greece, he is an organic olive grower, producing the much sought after Calypso olive oil. He coordinates a hemp co-operative and has a background in ethnobiology, with field research experience in India, Thailand, and China. The award-winning short documentary Farming on Crisis was produced by Pavlos, who also established numerous Slow Food initiatives.
