Role Overview:
The selected candidate will report directly to the General Manager and will be instrumental in overseeing all stages of crop production, harvesting, and packing. A key aspect of the role involves enhancing operational efficiency while upholding the company’s commitment to excellence. Building and maintaining robust relationships both internally with staff and externally with customers is vital.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Proven background in horticultural management, particularly with protected crops in a commercial glasshouse setting.
- Qualifications: Recognised qualification in horticulture.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage both permanent and seasonal employees effectively.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial aspects and experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with HACCP, BRC, and Global Gap standards is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer literacy, including knowledge of computer control systems.
- Personal Attributes: A proactive self-starter with a vision for long-term business growth, loyalty, and a track record of implementing positive change.
