Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority, has launched a collection of over 100 Technology Updates, highlighting the key findings from its research over the last five years. The Teagasc Technology Updates, published today, Thursday, 8 November, cover three of the four Teagasc research programmes;
- Animal and Grassland, Research and Innovation Programme;
- Crops, Environment and Land Use Programme,
- Rural Economy and Development Programme.
Earlier this year, technology updates for the Teagasc Food Research programme were published.
Teagasc Director Professor Gerry Boyle said: “Our annual research portfolio comprises some 300 research projects, carried out by 500 scientific, technical and support staff in our research centres throughout Ireland. We are committed to transferring the latest discoveries from these research projects to end users to ensure that our research has an impact and delivers a benefit to our stakeholders and the Irish economy. We publish Technology Updates for all completed research projects. These are designed to ensure a more effective transfer of new research information to the advisory and training services and to the end-user and to provide an easily accessible record of the main research findings.”
Jane Kavanagh, Teagasc Programme Implementation Co-Coordinator said: “This collection of Technology Updates represents a significant body of information on state of the art technologies and up to date analysis of the sector. It will be of great interest and use to advisers, teachers, farmers, policy makers, scientists and others interested in agricultural issues.”
