The Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA) has been successful in securing over £100,000 of government grant support for 2012-13 on behalf of its members and the British horticultural sector, under UK Trade & Investment’s Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP).
The funding, secured after strong lobbying and a competitive bidding process, will help to support UK companies interested in exploring new export opportunities and to ensure an effective presence at key international trade shows and exhibitions throughout the world.
CHA’s activities will be focussed on the three main events for the horticulture sector:
- HortiFair 2012 – 30 Oct – 2 Nov 2012 (Amsterdam, The Netherlands).
- Leading international show for Technology, Innovation & Inspiration in Horticulture.
- IPM Essen 2013 – 22-25 Jan 2013 (Essen, Germany).
- World’s leading show in the Green Sector – Plants, Technology, Floristry, Garden Features.
- Fruit Logistica 2013 – 6-8 Feb 2013 (Berlin, Germany).
Leading international meeting place for the fresh produce sector.
Eligible exhibitors could be able to reclaim between £1000 and £1400 against their costs of exhibiting at these world leading events.
CHA also plans to arrange information stands, trade missions or UK Pavilions at the following events:
- Naivasha Horticultural Fair – Naivasha, Kenya (14-15 Sept, 2012).
- Biggest and most diverse horticultural fair for Kenya and the East African region.
- Growtech Eurasia – Antalya, Turkey (5-8 Dec, 2012).
- Biggest and most important horticultural meeting point of Turkey and the Middle East.
- Salon du Végétal – Angers, France (19-21 Feb, 2013).
Premier French ornamental plant show – Cut Flowers, Green Spaces & Landscaping, Young Plants.
CHA has vast experience of organising British Pavilions at the world’s leading horticultural events, offering a discounted, low-cost and fully supported presence which could otherwise be beyond the resources of companies new to export or wishing to simply explore new market opportunities.
This co-ordinated approach allows for exhibitors to create a higher profile at the event and reach a wider audience. CHA’s full support package includes comprehensive PR and promotional campaigns to international trade press, industry stakeholders and product buyers before, during and after the event.
The association’s experienced events team will liaise and negotiate on the exhibitors’ behalf with event organisers, stand designers and sub-contractors, offering the complete service to ease the path to exhibiting for individual participants.
Throughout the year CHA will also evaluate other events, exhibitions and market opportunities and where possible lobby for funding and organise trade missions or delegation visits.
