Arjen van Buuren of Bogach Farm Organic Seeds is this year supplying organic seeds into some major retail outlets under a new name, the Irish Organic Seed Company.
The seeds will be distributed through Groomes fresh Produce in Balbriggan. In the meantime, Bogach Farm will continue to sell seeds for gardeners and commercial growers through the website, bogachfarm.ie. There will be new varieties available and also new varieties particularly for the commercial grower.
Arjen is collaborating with Holland Select, a world-wide producer of beans, which are available as organic seed from January, 2012. Also introduced this year is a new tomato variety, Bartelly F1, cultivated by De Bolster. Growers in Holland, Germany and Bogach Farm judged the variety to be excellent for taste and production, split resistant, strikingly healthy and vigorous.
