The Salon du Végétal was held in Angers recently at the Exhibition Center. Major event in France for professionals of the plant and flowers industry, this 27th edition attracted about 15,500 visitors and 614 exhibitors.

Artisans Fleuristes de France, Interflora and Oya presented their view of trends for Spring/Summer 2012 on the Cut flowers trends stand.
Floral demonstrations with Bouquets d’aujourd’hui: spotlight on bulbous cut flowers.

Like the 3 others dedicated centres – « Cut flowers », « Green spaces and landscaping » and « Young plants », this new space gathered exhibitors who work to determine the trends for tomorrow. It attracted a lot of visitors who took part in 30 minutes talks on various themes such as trends in colors, the future of horticulture, strategies for tomorrow, etc.

During the 3 days, 11 prototypes were presented by young designers on the Espace Inspiration® stand. Botami received the trophy «a new design approach to plant» awarded by a jury of professionals in the horticultural industry and the world of design.
Oueki Family was awarded the “Visitors’ Favourite” trophy.

During the « Awards ceremony of plant sector », the journalists association AJJH awarded the 2012 garden prize.

This is what emerges among other from the survey « Salon du Végétal / Lettre du végétal » realized at the end of the last year with a sample of 2000 representative households of the French population and diffused on the show. This barometer aims at knowing the preferences of the French people in plants. The results of the inquiry are in the survey.
