This post may be offered on a Part Time Pro Rata or temporary part time basis, reporting to the Head of School of Informatics and Engineering.
The Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, has a significant involvement in the development and delivery of comprehensive and high quality education and training programmes for the Horticulture Sector in Ireland. Our programmes are intended to provide Horticultural practitioners and businesses with the necessary skills and competencies to develop in increasingly competitive and sophisticated domestic and international markets. They also seek to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to facilitate the increasing use of green spaces, field sports facilities and other horticulture amenities in contemporary society, and the growing societal concern over issues such as sustainability and quality of food.
ITB has a particular remit to provide access to our academic programmes to those already employed, and this is particularly true of Horticulture. Our programmes have work-based and part-time versions, structured and delivered in a way that maximise participation from people seeking to establish a career in Horticulture and those already employed in the horticulture sector in Ireland.
