UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, in partnership with Bord Bia have finished its third intake of this innovative programme, offering 25 of Ireland’s sharpest minds an exciting opportunity; the Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship. Fitzgerald Nurseries, Kerry Cut Foliage and Monaghan Mushrooms have already participated.

Pat Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Nurseries comments “We have availed of the Fellowship program in 2010 and found it useful for a specific data collection project.” He warns however that “Horticulture companies need to have a very specific project in mind and ideally someone in house to monitor and drive the project so that the intern know’s what output is expected and needed by the host horticulture company.”

This intensive 12-month action learning programme gives successful candidates the combined opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with some of Ireland’s most respected food companies and also gain a postgraduate qualification. Participants’ time will be split between working in foreign locations, supported by Bord Bia, and studying for an MSc in Marketing Practice at UCD Smurfit School.

This is a fully-funded programme, including all tuition fees, and participants will receive a bursary to the value of €22,800.

This round is now closed but keep and eye for a new intake of participants at http://www.smurfitschool.ie/bordbia/
