Let’s Talk Trees; Four free information meetings to mark in your diary!

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Teagasc are hosting four free information events in October and November 2025.

Each event opens with two short presentations followed by a conversation between Minister Michael Healy-Rae and a farmer forest owner discussing their forestry journey.
You will also get an opportunity to talk to Teagasc forestry advisors on a one-to-one basis
about your interest in forestry and suitability of specific land you might have for planting trees.

Dates and locations are as follows: 

• Tuesday, 21 Oct in Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, Co Galway H53 FP0
• Thursday, 23 Oct in Brehon Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry. R32 VE24
• Tuesday, 4 Nov in Ardboyne Hotel, Navan, Co Meath C15 C9YA
• Tuesday, 11 Nov in Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny City R95 KP63(all events run from 7pm to 10:30pm)

These events are FREE and open to all.

Let’s Talk Trees will include:

• • • Two short presentations from DAFM and Teagasc on:
      • Afforestation grant and premium details.
      • How Forestry complements other farm income support measures.
• Followed by a conversation between Minister Michael Healy-Rae and a farmer about their forestry journey.
• Individual clinics with professional forestry staff.
