GLDA Seminar 2026: Lulu Urquhart & Adam Hunt

Lulu Urquhart and Adam Hunt design with nature at the centre.

Their work treats gardens and landscapes as living, evolving ecologies where plants, water, soil and wildlife interact, rather than as tidy, controlled compositions.

They came to wide attention at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, where their A Rewilding Britain Landscape won a Gold Medal and Best in Show, celebrating how natural processes like beaver activity create wildlife-rich habitats and shape living landscapes.

Their practice spans twenty-plus years from studios in Somerset, UK and Cork, Ireland, creating landscapes that place ecological restoration at the heart of design and explore the evolving relationship between people, nature and place.

At the GLDA Seminar 2026, their talk “Designing with Nature” will present their vision of the garden as a living dialogue between the natural and the cultivated world.

This approach speaks to anyone interested in planting as ecological practice, where gardens function as living systems rather than static designs.

Lulu Urquhart and Adam Hunt will be speaking at the GLDA Seminar on Saturday, 28 February 2026 in Dublin.
