Value Carbon invites greenhouse growers, cooperatives, and other potential CO₂ users in the Netherlands to discuss the future purchase and supply of CO₂ from new production locations that are expected to become operational from 2027.
Value Carbon is currently developing several projects in the Netherlands where CO₂ will be captured, purified, liquefied, and made available for reuse. Subject to the successful development and commissioning of these projects, the first additional volumes of CO₂ are expected to become available in 2027.
Value Carbon is therefore seeking contact with businesses that expect to require CO₂ from 2027 onwards and are interested in exploring whether these new production locations could become part of their future CO₂ supply strategy.
Expressions of interest are welcome from:
- Greenhouse horticulture businesses throughout the Netherlands;
- Individual growers and larger horticultural groups;
- Grower cooperatives and purchasing organisations;
- CO₂ distributors and infrastructure operators;
- Other organisations expecting to purchase significant volumes of CO₂ from 2027 onwards.
- Location is an important part of the discussion, as the feasibility and cost of CO₂ supply will depend on the distance from
- the production location and the available delivery infrastructure. Value Carbon is therefore interested in speaking with
- potential offtakers throughout the Netherlands to identify where demand is concentrated and which supply solutions may be commercially and logistically viable.
Initial discussions will focus on:
- Expected CO₂ demand from 2027 onwards;
- Required annual and peak volumes;
- Seasonal and weekly consumption patterns;
- Current CO₂ supply arrangements and anticipated supply risks;
- Required security and continuity of supply;
- Preferred delivery method, such as liquid CO₂ by tanker truck, local pipelines, shared infrastructure, or connection to a future CO₂ network;
- Storage and unloading facilities available at the customer’s location;
- Indicative commercial requirements and contract duration;
- Interest in medium- or long-term CO₂ offtake arrangements.
The purpose of these discussions is not only to collect general market information, Value Carbon also wants to identify potential offtakers with whom concrete future supply opportunities can be evaluated as the projects progress.
Value Carbon aims to engage with at least ten potential offtakers during this initial phase. The information provided will be used to match future production volumes with customer demand, assess transport and infrastructure requirements, and develop commercially viable supply arrangements.
Participation in the expression-of-interest process does not create an obligation to purchase CO₂ or enter into a commercial agreement. Any future supply arrangement will be subject to further technical and commercial discussions, project development, availability of CO₂, and a separate agreement between the parties.
