RHSI Russborough Garden Show 2017

The Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland (RHSI), The Alfred Beit Foundation and Quinns of Baltinglass have teamed up to host a spectacular Garden Show on Saturday, 29th July 2017 in the historic parkland setting of Russborough, in beautiful West Wicklow.  

Here are some the highlights:
In the marketplace, there will be an extensive range of stalls selling top quality specialist plants, flowers, tools and other essentials for gardening at home.
Quinns have handpicked a group of suppliers and experts to join them in the retail courtyard. Expect garden furniture, barbecues, tools, clothing, and accessories along with demos, spot prizes, and gardening advice.   The 2017 range of Husqvarna products will be on display.
Eagerly awaited, Husqvarna robot mowing demonstrations will take place on the front lawn.
In the Hippodrome, a knowledgeable and entertaining line-up of speakers will include:

  • Paul Martin, RHS Chelsea gold medal winner 2016 ‘Creating Beautiful Gardens’
  • Martin Walsh, garden designer & plant hunter ‘Himalayan & Chinese plants for the Irish Garden’
  • Dara Craul of June Blake’s Garden, ‘Garden Books – a short history’

Watch RHSI flower arranging demonstrations with freshly cut produce from the borders in the Walled Garden:

  • Maria Watchorn, ‘A vertical arrangement for the hall table’
  • Karen Robinson, ‘A simple hand tied wedding bouquet using garden flowers’
  • Karen Robinson, ‘Flowers from the garden – an arrangement’

Enjoy a leisurely walk in the Walled Garden and talk to the RHSI Volunteers who are involved in its restoration – ask them any gardening questions you may have.
Other attractions include:

  • Delicious food by Brambles Catering
  • Free car parking
  • Free access to the playground for accompanied children
  • A special rate of 2 for 1 will apply for guided tours of the house.

Admission of €8 per adult, €20 per family and €6 for RHSI members.
