HSA launches health and safety course for seasonal workers in horticulture

This online course is suitable for seasonal workers, students, and anybody working in horticulture on a part-time or full-time basis. It is also a useful refresher course for seasonal workers who may be returning to work in Ireland after a break.

Course duration: 40 minutes

Learning outcomes:

On successful completion of this course you should be able to:

• Identify employer and employee responsibilities in the workplace
• Recognise key hazards and risks in horticulture
• Protect your welfare and wellbeing at work
• Source further health and safety information and guidance.

If you are an employer, you may wish to use the Group Manager facility to register a group to take the course. You must be logged in to use this facility.

Certification:

A certificate is awarded to participants on successful completion of the course. This includes a short assessment at the end of the course. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass. Once complete, you will be able to download your certificate.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has overall responsibility for the administration and enforcement of health and safety at work in Ireland. They are also the national centre for information and advice to employers, employees and self-employed on all aspects of workplace health and safety and the use of chemicals. The HSA also promotes education, training and research in the field of health and safety.
