Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O’Neill today launched the annual Postgraduate Agricultural and Food Studentships 2013. Announcing the awards, the Minister said: “The principal aim of our Scheme is to provide our best students with the opportunity to undertake a PhD, in an area of research relevant to our needs and those of the wider agri-food industry.
“My Department’s support for the Scheme demonstrates our ongoing commitment to investment in the agri-food science base. We currently fund 23 PhD students who are carrying out three year research projects and will offer a further eight awards for research commencing in October 2013.”
